For fun:

  • If the monitor you are looking at now has a resolution of 1280 x 800, that’s 1,024,000 pixels
  • A million seconds = 11.57 days
  • There are a million drops of water in a liter
  • A million is also an addictive fresh spicy leathery fragrance

We recently released a new version, Jetpack 1.2.4,  with some minor bug fixes. You can download it here or through your WordPress Dashboard.

    Hello Scott,

That’s wonderful news. Unfortunately, there are a few of us that are still having problems with the dreaded “glitch”. At least, I hope I’m not the only one! I have a good number of plugins working (some that didn’t for a while) so i don’t think there is too much wrong with my setup for WP. I love Jetpack and miss it. My environment and recent history is:
In early April migrated to new servers
    WP 3.3.1
Jetpack worked and then 1.2.2, 1.2.3, 1.2.4 didn’t (imagine the range of emotions as i moved through each new release).
I mainly use Chrome but have also tried on IE

If you could send us a detailed bug report about exactly what is going wrong, including any error messages that you see, we’d be happy to help get you back up and running with Jetpack.

        Hello Tim,

        Bug report below:

        Planthez – https://blog.planthealthsolutions.com.au – Jetpack Glitch

        1. What were you trying to do?
        2. What did you click on or do last?
        3. What happened / what did you see?
I upgraded JP to 1.2.2 via dashboard and responded to the request to connect to WP. The following error message came up:
Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32700 Try connecting again.
Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. Please check to make surehttp://blog.planthealthsolutions.com.au/xmlrpc.php is working properly. It should show ‘XML RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.
        4. What browser are you using?
        Chrome and IE on Vista
        5. What version of WordPress?
        3.3.1
        6. What hosting provider? (And if you know, what version of PHP do they use?)
Hosting control panel is at http://control.server922.com . PHP version 5
        7. The bug is reported to the right place
This bug has continued through 1.2.2, 1.2.3 and now 1.2.4

If you look at http://blog.planthealthsolutions.com.au/xmlrpc.php, you’ll see that there are a bunch of new lines before the text “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” This is the problem, which is most likely a theme or plugin problem. Start by switching to a default theme (Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven). If that doesn’t fix the issue, try deactivating all plugins other than Jetpack.

        Hi Tim,

Working well now, thanks. It was tied up with Weaver 11 theme. My son and i had a good look around and found Weaver 11 failed and twenty ten worked but that is all we knew. We determined that it was not involved with the security of our host server (Apache based). Anyway, I don’t know why but it now works with Weaver 11.

        Thanks again,
        Bob (planthez)

It seems Jetpack has been down since last night — at first I noticed the statistics weren’t loading, and this morning I received a ton of comment notifications in my inbox — but they were all spam messages that hadn’t been filtered by Akismet. I’m not sure if this is a bug per se, but do you know anything about a server that isn’t working properly or something like that? Thank you so much!

I’d love to see the addition of a wordpress.com style comments system though!

Tim was right – default theme Weaver wheat worked but Weaver 11 sub themes injects white space. For some unexplained reason it worked with Weaver 11 for a little while but when I deactivated it no luck.

We are going to redesign the site shortly so have left things alone for now.

      Cheers,
      Bob (Planthez)
