This release introduces two new features to add some zip to your posts and help you create those posts faster. (Spoiler alert: GIFs!)
GIFs: There’s a Block for That
Sometimes it’s easier (and more fun!) to express yourself with a simple GIF, and now it’s easier to get those GIFs into your posts. Jetpack’s new GIF block puts all of Giphy, the world’s largest GIF library, into your editor. Insert a GIF block, search for a word, pick your favorite GIF, and voilà : instant zing.
Cat GIFs, reaction GIFs, cinemagraphs. . . The possibilities are endless!
Speed Up Drafting with Copy Post
With the new Copy Post feature, you can quickly create new drafts based on already-published posts — super handy if you want to replicate a particular layout or format. Find the post you want to copy, and click the “Copy” link; Jetpack will take care of the rest and get you started with a fresh copy of that post.
You can use Copy Post with both the Block Editor and the Classic Editor.
Goodbye, Google+
Google+ will be sunset very soon, so we’ve started to remove Google+ features from Jetpack. If you previously used Google+ Widgets, sharing buttons, or shortcodes, those features will no longer be available in Jetpack. This release will remove them from your site.
If you have a Publicize connection to your Google+ Profile or Page it will continue working through March, but you won’t be able to create new connections.

When using Jetpack’s Publicize feature, you can control what will be displayed on your linked Social Media accounts thanks to the custom message box that appears as you hit Publish in the block editor, or under the “Publish” button if you use the classic editor. That should help!

Shame no fix for the dead dog that is the Jetpack Gallery (what’s the point if one cant edit it?). Seriously now thinking of dumping Jetpack FWIW

I believe we discussed this very issue last month. As I mentioned at the time, this is a problem with the Gallery block in the new block editor. It consequently impacts all blocks that are built on top of the new Gallery feature in the new block editor. If you “dump Jetpack”, you’ll experience the same problem with the default Gallery block. That’s consequently a problem that will need to be fixed in WordPress itself; until that happens, you’ll see the problem everywhere. To work-around that problem, I would recommend using the “Classic” block in the block editor: search for “classic” in the block picker instead of “gallery”, and then insert your gallery inside that classic block.
I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Jeremy, I dumped the new Block Editor a week after it came out. I’m now building in Classic Editor and using SiteOrigin blocks but the problem is still the same. After initially building a gallery it will let you enter Edit mode ONCE. Then after that zero option to move images or remove, only to add more. I had hoped that Jetpack and WordPress might have worked together on this rather than implying that ‘WordPress needs to fix this itself”. With all the 3rd party plugins out there, I really don’t don’t need a Jetpack feature that’s simply not fit for purpose.

If you don’t use the Block editor, the link I posted last month does not apply to you; the problem you are experiencing must be completely different.
I can’t seem to reproduce that issue on a site using the latest version of Jetpack and the classic editor, but my setup and the steps I follow may still be different from yours.
Does that problem disappear when deactivating the Jetpack plugin? If not, did it start happening with a specific Jetpack update? If you deactivate Jetpack’s “Speed up image load times” option, does the problem disappear?
If you’d like to investigate this with me a bit more, could you use this contact form to send us more details about your setup, and the different tests you’ve made so far?

You might want to specify that you need to activate (from Settings) the “copy post” feature, it’s not on by default (as the documentation above seems to imply).

No, the blocks are only available in the block editor. The classic editor does not offer that kind of feature.
