One of the Jetpack features our users love the most is Publicize. And it’s easy to see why: a lot happens on social networks–Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others–and Publicize makes it easy to make sure your content is in the mix.
When you establish a Publicize connection between your WordPress-powered site and your social network accounts, your new posts are automatically shared in your feeds. As of March 1st, LinkedIn is making changes that will stop Publicize from sharing new posts to your feed there. To ensure your posts continue to be correctly shared, we’ve made some changes on our end to achieve full compatibility with these changes from LinkedIn.
To make sure the changes take effect for your site, you’ll need to disconnect and re-connect with LinkedIn. This will re-authenticate you with their systems, and then you can go back to not thinking whether your posts are getting shared–which is the point of Publicize!
- Log in to wordpress.com, and select the site whose LinkedIn connection you need to update.
- Go to the Sharing settings. You’ll find a link to this section in the sidebar:
- Once in the Sharing settings, you’ll see a warning notice below the LinkedIn connection:
- Click Disconnect button to turn off your LinkedIn connection.
- You’ll see that button change to a Connect button again. Click it to start the connection process.
- Authorize the LinkedIn connection in the pop-up that appears. You might need to log in to your LinkedIn account to complete this. All the instructions in this dialog come from LinkedIn.
This re-authenticates your connection and ensures that Publicize will continue sharing your posts to LinkedIn normally. Time to start writing again!

Sorry, but I’m not following. Can you more better ‘splain what’s the difference between updates on pages versus update in profiles? I’m new at this and I’d very much like a way to write a blog article once and have it automatically “post” to LI. I’ve been learning Story Chief but, apparently, SC only posts to your company page –sans photo–not to the “post a comment” or “post an article.” Posting only to company page is a no-go for me. I have 10 times the followers on my personal page than my company page.

Right now, Jetpack can only Publicize posts from your site to your personal LinkedIn profile, not any company pages you have. It sounds like this should work for you though, if you have more personal followers. 🙂

The point here is to be able to choose. To post on the profile or on the company profile or in both

I have tried this from 2 different computers and 3 different browsers, each with the same problem and the same result. WordPress shows an error saying no account was selected while LinkedIn shows the connection was made. When I try to add it again in WordPress, it errors immediately saying no account was selected. Keep in mind, LinkedIn thinks it allowed the connection and it shows up in my account but WordPress still shows nothing connected. Any thoughts?

Not sure what happened overnight, but when I tried again this morning to do some screen captures I received different errors about missing nonce, and not just on LinkedIn but also on Twitter. After going to each account and clearing the connection on both ends I was able to reconnect both services. Odd, but fixed.

I’ve tried dozens of times to reconnect my Linkedin Account. I’ve tried emptying my cache and cookies, disconnecting WordPress from within Linkedin. Nothing has worked. Every time I try to connect I get this error: The LinkedIn connection could not be made because no account was selected.
Anything I can do?
