Jetpack 7.6: working even better with the AMP plugin

Jetpack 7.6 is now available for download. This release expands Jetpack’s integration with the AMP plugin and improves security for Simple Payments.

Here’s more on what’s new this month:

AMP Plugin Compatibility

Ever since AMP was created to offer simpler, faster website interfaces for mobile devices, we’ve worked to ensure that Jetpack’s features work well with the AMP plugin.

This release changes three of your favorite Jetpack features, making them compatible with AMP:

  • You can now see Related Posts on AMP views.
  • If you use Jetpack’s Image CDN, you’ll now see AMP images rendered via our CDN.
  • We’re now letting the AMP plugin style the Jetpack sharing buttons. And it won’t load any extra CSS, so your AMP pages are even faster than ever.

Security Changes for Simple Payments

Do you use Jetpack’s Simple Payments feature to sell products or collect donations? We’ve tightened security to limit the elements that can be added to the Title and Description fields to better protect your site visitors.

And more

As always, this release includes many other bug fixes and improvements. You can check the full changelog for more details. To use the latest version of Jetpack on your site, update your existing installation or install Jetpack.

You can go to this page to see the status of the Jetpack plugin on all your sites:
      https://wordpress.com/plugins/jetpack

If your site is hosted on WordPress.com, you won’t need to do anything; the Jetpack plugin has already been updated for you there.
If your site is hosted somewhere else, you will be able to update from the page above.

Update caused some errors. I have reported them to your support team but wanted to notify users of the issues. I have reverted to jetpack-7.5.3 and the issue was corrected.

    Here is the error:
CRITICAL Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted…../plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php on line 2637

Thanks for your information. This sounds like an edge case or a conflict with other plugins/themes on your site.

We’ve sent a ticket (email) to your email in the comment here. Please give us more information there, then we can troubleshoot further.
