If you post regularly on your blog you probably use various shortcodes to embed content on a regular basis (and if you don’t, learn more here as they’re super useful).
A shortcode is usually a line of plain text that might look like this:
Jetpack converts this line of plain text into the necessary HTML and JavaScript needed to display the video directly on your blog post or website page.
You can just as easily embed videos from other services, picture galleries, Spotify playlists, Google Maps, and so much more.
Readers subscribing to your site using Jetpack’s (free) email subscriptions service would, until now, receive in their inbox the plain text version rather than the beautiful, embedded, rich version.
The latest version of Jetpack however solves this elegantly. Subscribers now receive email-friendly content and layout for over 200 of our most popular shortcodes so that your emails look the way you intended.
So now, you can expect your emails to look more like the email on the right of this:
This improvement, we hope, makes your Jetpack experience even better and continues bringing you closer to your readers and customers.
Upgrade to the latest version of Jetpack or install it today for free.
Pro Tip: Personal plan customers benefit from priority support and faster assistance.
Great news, thanks !
Now, all I want is to display the featured image and it will be perfect.

Yes, that’s on our list of things to add to Jetpack Subscriptions!
Thanks for the suggestion.

It used to contain the featured image, didn’t it? Until a few weeks ago when it stopped working? Just checking that this feature is the same thing I think it is.

I’m afraid Jetpack’s Subscription emails don’t contain the featured image yet, and never have. That’s on our list of things to add to the subscription emails, though!
If you’re thinking of another part of the emails that changed for you a few weeks ago, send us an email with some examples and we’ll take a look.

This sounds pretty great. Does it require the shortcode or will it work for any oEmbed content?

It will work for oEmbed content as well!

Good news!
Now, I can remove the plugin shortcode site. My site has installed many plugins, but I do not know which ones you want to remove.

You shouldn’t have to make any changes to your site; the changes we’ve made to our subscriptions feature are already active and you don’t need to activate or deactivate any feature to see the changes in the subscription emails sent by Jetpack!

Nice to see these improvements. Would be great if we could also have the email be a bit more customized. For example the email background colour could be the site background, and the blue border could use the site header text colour (or similar). Then the email colours will more closely match the brand colours being used.
