Coherent

Coherent is a simple theme combining minimal styling with a robust structure, resulting in a theme that lets your writing speak for itself. It’s a great theme for both established writers and those who want to start writing. The format is flexible and lets you find your voice.

Custom Header

If you have a custom header image, it appears full-width on the front page, creating an impact right away. The ideal size is: 2000px by 1500px. To upload a custom header image, go to My Sites → Customize → Header Image. 

Featured Image

If you’ve set a Featured Image, it displays full-width on the single post. This allows you to make a statement with your content. The ideal size is: 2000px by 1500px.

Content Styling

From large images and pull quotes to blockquotes, Coherent complements your content with simple, yet strong touches.

To add a pull quote, you simply add the classes “alignleft” or “alignright” to a block quote. Here are some examples of how to do that in the Text/HTML Editor.

Sliding Panel

Coherent features a sliding panel that contains a Social Links Menu, navigation, and widgets. You can include as many of these as you want; if you choose not to add anything, the sliding panel and indicator won’t be displayed, allowing for a really minimal layout.

Social Links

Coherent lets you display links to your social media profiles with icons. Learn how to set up your Social Links Menu. To create a menu, start by going to Customize → Menus. Linking to any of the following sites will automatically display its icon in your menu:
