Twenty Twelve is an elegant, readable, and fully responsive theme that makes your site content look its best on any device.

Front Page Template

A key component of this theme is a special Front Page Template. This template meets the need for a carefully crafted introductory page. Add text, images, video, or anything you’d like to the upper area, and then arrange front-page-only widgets in one or two columns below that content.

To get the look of the demo, follow these steps:

Set your homepage as the “front page” following these instructions.
Select the Front Page Template for your homepage following this guide.
Add a Featured Image to your homepage.
Add widgets to the First and Second Front Page Widget Areas.

Responsive, Mobile-first Layout

Starting with a thoughtfully crafted mobile-first layout, Twenty Twelve can be viewed on any size of device, from smartphones and tablets up to the latest and greatest HiDPI screens. No matter how your readers arrive at your site, it will be good-looking, readable, and usable.

Custom “Open Sans” Font

To increase readability and attractiveness, Twenty Twelve features a gorgeous display font, Open Sans.

Post Formats Everywhere

Links, Quotes, Asides, Statuses, and Image Post Formats display a bit differently than Standard blog posts—and they’ll retain their unique look and feel across your site, whether in archive or single post views.

Widgets and No-sidebar Layout

Twenty Twelve loves the no-sidebar look as much as you do. Use the optional “Full-width page, no sidebar” Page Template to remove the sidebar from any page. Want to simplify even more and remove the sidebar from all your posts and pages? Remove any active widgets from the Main Sidebar widget area and the sidebar will disappear.

Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels)

The main column width is 625 except in the full-width layout where it’s 960; sidebar width is 250.
Featured image width is 624 (height is flexible)—these images are displayed on displayed on “standard” posts; posts without a specific format such as image, aside, link, or quote.
The suggested header image dimensions are 960 by 250 (width, height). However, both are flexible so you can upload a smaller cropped image if you wish. The width is limited to 2000.
