Close them for new posts, then list my posts that still allow comments and ask before you close those too. Don’t delete any comments. ## Steps for your agent 1. Call settings.get with include_discussion true and say what the comment settings are now. 2. Ask before changing them. On yes, call settings.update with default_comment_status "closed" and user_confirmed true. This only affects new posts. 3. Call posts.list for published posts and keep those with comment_status "open". Say how many there are and ask before closing them. 4. On yes, call posts.update with comment_status "closed" and user_confirmed true, once per post. Ask if pages should be closed too. Never delete comments. ## Tools - `settings.get` (reads only, through `wpcom-mcp-site`): Read your discussion settings. - `settings.update` (makes changes, through `wpcom-mcp-site`): Close comments on new posts. - `posts.list` (reads only, through `wpcom-mcp-content-authoring`): List the posts that still allow comments. - `posts.update` (makes changes, through `wpcom-mcp-content-authoring`): Close comments on a post. Run each tool through the WordPress.com MCP server tool named next to it, with `action: "execute"`, `operation` set to the tool name, `wpcom_site` and `params`. Set `user_confirmed: true` only after the user approves a change. ## Before you start - Free. Works on any Jetpack site. - You need to be an administrator. ## Safety Asks before each change. It closes comments and never deletes them. You can turn them back on any time.
