The Image widget allows you to easily add images to widget areas in your theme. It’s an easy way to add some visual interest to your site.
Note: Previous versions of Jetpack called the widget “Image (Jetpack)”. If you had earlier Jetpack Image widgets, they were automatically converted to use the built-in Image widget.
To set it up:
- Go to Appearance > Widgets in your WordPress Dashboard.
- Drag the “Image” widget in to one of your active sidebars.
- Click on ‘Add Image’, as seen below:
You can then input either a URL or upload a file to or from your Media Library, as shown here:
Note: If you choose to insert a URL, you’ll need to make sure the URL is to only an image in order for it to load properly. This typically means it ends in .jpg
