How to connect

Connect your agent once, then paste any prompt into it. Each prompt says what it needs.

Install Jetpack on your site and connect it to WordPress.com, if you haven’t yet.
Add the WordPress.com app to ChatGPT, or to Claude. For a coding agent, copy its setup command.
Sign in with the WordPress.com account linked to your Jetpack site, and approve the connection.
Open any prompt, copy it, and paste it into your agent.

What are these prompts?

Each one is a request you paste into your AI agent to get one job done, like checking your backups. Its page lists what the agent will read, what it might change, and what you need first. You can change the prompt to fit your site.

Which AI agents can I use?

ChatGPT and Claude, through the WordPress.com app. Coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Codex work too, with a one-line setup command, and so does any app that supports MCP. See How to connect.

Can my agent change my site without asking?

Your agent never gets more than your own WordPress permissions, and you can switch off any tool you don’t want it to use in Jetpack > Jetpack AI. When a prompt makes changes, your agent asks you first, unless you tell it not to. Every change shows in your activity log.

Do I need a paid plan?

Using an AI agent on your Jetpack site is free until 30. November 2026.* Most prompts use free features, like Jetpack Forms, Stats, Downtime Monitor and the activity log. A few need a plan with Scan or VaultPress Backup. Each prompt says what it needs.

My agent says it can’t find a tool. What now?

Some prompts need a Jetpack feature turned on first, like Forms or Newsletter. Make sure Jetpack is up to date, and that you added the app with the WordPress.com account linked to your site. Then ask your agent to try again.
