Shape the Future of Jetpack
Test upcoming Jetpack releases before they’re widely available, then tell us what works and what needs attention.
You don’t need to be a developer—just use a separate test site where an unstable build can’t affect important data.
Download and install the Beta Tester
Jetpack Beta Tester makes it easy to switch between pre-release versions of Jetpack. Beta software can be unstable, so install it only on a local, staging, or other test site—not on a production site or anywhere you keep important data.
Before you begin
- Install and activate the latest stable version of Jetpack.
- Use a site you can safely restore if a pre-release build causes problems.
- Back up anything you can’t afford to lose before testing.
Install from your dashboard
- Download the ZIP file above without extracting it.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the ZIP file, install it, and activate Jetpack Beta Tester.
- Open Jetpack → Beta and select the release or feature you want to test.
Report a beta issue
If you find a problem in a Jetpack beta, please report it through our official GitHub form. A useful report includes:
- The exact steps needed to reproduce the problem.
- What you expected to happen and what happened instead.
- The URL of the affected page and relevant details about your test environment.
- Your WordPress, Jetpack, and Jetpack Beta Tester versions.
- Screenshots, browser console messages, or logs when they help explain the issue.
