Get found in search and in AI answers

See what search engines and AI tools can find, fix missing SEO details post by post, and choose which AI crawlers get in. All from one page in WordPress.

Content SEO

Fix SEO details post by post

The Content tab lists your published posts and pages with their SEO details, so you can find what’s missing and fix it in place.

  • Filter to posts missing an SEO title, meta description, or schema type
  • Preview how a post could look in search results before you save
  • Choose Article or FAQ schema for any post
  • Hide a post from search engines and your sitemap
Site settings

Help search engines find and understand your site

Set your site-wide options once from the Settings tab.

  • Publish an XML sitemap
  • Add verification codes for Google, Bing, Facebook, and more
  • Add structured data for your organization, a local business, breadcrumbs, and post authors
  • Customize your title structure and front-page description
  • Add canonical URLs to archive pages
GEO

Decide which AI tools can use your content

The GEO tab, short for generative engine optimization, controls how AI tools find and use your site. Answer engines show your content in AI answers. Training crawlers collect content to train AI models.

  • Block answer engines like ChatGPT Search and Perplexity, one by one or all at once
  • Block training crawlers like GPTBot and Google-Extended
  • Nothing is blocked until you choose, and the rules go into your robots.txt
  • Publish an llms.txt summary of your site for AI tools

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Jetpack SEO

Answers about pricing, AI controls, and working with other SEO plugins.

Is Jetpack SEO free?
Yes. The SEO page, sitemaps, site verification, schema, and AI crawler controls are free with Jetpack. Only the AI SEO Enhancer needs a paid plan: Jetpack Pro or Jetpack Complete.
Where do I find Jetpack SEO?
In WP Admin, go to Jetpack → SEO. It needs Jetpack 16.4 or later, connected to your WordPress.com account, and an administrator account. If your site had Jetpack before 16.4, click “Use the new experience” in the banner on the Traffic tab of Jetpack → Settings. Your settings come with you, and you can’t switch back. After you update Jetpack, the page can take up to a day to appear. The Jetpack SEO guide has the details.
Does it work with Yoast SEO or other SEO plugins?
Yes. If Yoast SEO, All in One SEO, Rank Math, The SEO Framework, Slim SEO, SEOPress, or SEOKEY is active, that plugin manages your SEO output and Jetpack steps back. Jetpack shows a notice naming the plugin, locks its own title structure, front-page description, schema, and author profile settings, and doesn’t add canonical URLs or generate llms.txt, so the two don’t overlap.
What's the difference between answer engines and training crawlers?
Answer engines, like ChatGPT Search and Perplexity, show your content in their AI answers. Training crawlers, like GPTBot and Google-Extended, collect content to train AI models. Jetpack lets you block each one separately and doesn’t block any of them by default. The controls need your site to be open to search engines, and they aren’t available if your site has a static robots.txt file or is a path-based multisite network.
What is llms.txt?
It’s a summary of your site, published at /llms.txt, that AI tools can read. Turn it on from the GEO tab. It’s off by default and needs your site to be open to search engines.
Will the AI SEO Enhancer overwrite what I've written?
No. It fills in missing SEO titles, meta descriptions, and image alt text, and leaves anything you entered yourself untouched. It comes with Jetpack Pro and Jetpack Complete.
What happens if I turn Jetpack SEO off?
Jetpack stops using your saved titles and descriptions, stops adding structured data, and stops serving llms.txt and the AI crawler rules. Pages you hid from search engines become visible again. Everything you entered is kept, so it all comes back when you turn Jetpack SEO on again.
