Add File Uploads to your Contact forms

Add the File Upload Field block to your contact forms, so visitors can attach documents, images, and other files when they reach out.

With the File Upload Field block, you can add an upload field to your contact forms. This allows visitors to easily attach files, images, or documents, so you can collect extra information with their submission.

Add a File Upload Field

To let visitors attach files through your form, here’s how to add a File Upload Field:

  1. Open the page or post where you want to add your form, or create a new form. You can read how to do it on this page.
  2. In the List View, find the field that will come before or after the new upload field.
  3. Click the Options icon (⋮) in the toolbar, then choose Add before or Add after to insert a new block.
  4. Click the + (plus icon) block inserter and search for File Upload Field.
  5. Select File Upload Field from the block options to place it in your form – the icon is green.
  6. Once you’re done, click Save or Publish in the top-right corner of the WordPress editor to keep your changes.

You can style and adjust the file upload field the same way you customize any other form field.

Accessing Uploaded Files

After a visitor submits a form with an attached file, you can review the responses and manage uploaded files. Go to Jetpack → Forms → Responses in WP Admin. Select the submitter’s name to open their submission. You can download the uploaded file using the download icon, or preview it by clicking the file name.

Accepted File Formats

Accepted formats include PDF, Word documents, JPEG and PNG images, and audio files (up to 20 MB per file). Please be aware that video uploads are currently not supported in form submissions.
