Google Calendar Block

Embed a Google Calendar into your post or page with Jetpack’s Google Calendar block.

Activation requirements

The Google Calendar block is available on all Jetpack-connected sites. It is a part of the Jetpack Blocks suite and is activated by default. See our Jetpack Blocks article to learn about the available blocks and how to activate them.

Jetpack Blocks require the Block Editor (also referred to as the Gutenberg editor). If you’ve installed the Classic Editor plugin, you have a few options:

  • Deactivate the Classic Editor: Go to PluginsInstalled Plugins in your WP Admin and deactivate the Classic Editor plugin.
  • Enable both editors: If you prefer flexibility, navigate to Settings → Writing in your WP Admin (not the menu under Jetpack settings). Set Allow users to switch editors to Yes. You will only see these options if you have the Classic Editor plugin installed and active.

Some custom themes or plugins may prevent you from using the Block Editor. In that case, please contact the support team for the plugin or theme for further assistance.

For more details, see Using Blocks and the Classic Editor.

Add the Google Calendar block

You can add the Google Calendar block by searching and/or selecting it from the Jetpack section of the block selector. You can recognize the block by its green Google Calendar icon. See Jetpack Blocks for detailed instructions on adding blocks.

Once you’ve added the block, you will need to enable Permissions for the calendar you want to share; then, you can add the embed link or an iframe tag to display the calendar.

Check this documentation page for detailed information on enabling permissions for your calendar to add in the block.

Customize the Google Calendar block

Access the block toolbar by clicking on the block: use the alignment button in the toolbar to add the calendar to the left, right, or center relative to the page.

Block Settings

Every block has specific options in the editor sidebar, and options can be found in the block toolbar. If you do not see the sidebar, click the Settings icon (it looks like a menu) next to the Publish button.

The block doesn’t have any specific settings to manage. However, if you want to change the embed link or the iframe code, you can do it from the Calendar settings instead of removing the block completely and starting from scratch (by re-adding it).

Finally, from the Advanced tab you can add a CSS class to your block, write custom CSS, and style the block as you see fit.
