Subscribers Stats

Get specific insight about your subscribers with the Jetpack Stats Subscribers view.

Understand your subscriber growth and engagement with the data presented by going to your WP Admin dashboard Stats → Subscribers tab.

All-time Stats

See a total number of your subscribers. It includes all your email subscribers, free email subscribers, paid email subscribers, and WordPress.com subscribers. These statistics should give you a comprehensive understanding of your subscriber base:

  • Total email subscribers: People who have signed up to follow your blog via email through the Jetpack subscriptions feature. Add a Subscribe block to your website to increase this number.
  • Free email subscribers: Email followers who are not paying for your newsletters.
  • Paid email subscribers: Email subscribers who have signed up to receive your paid newsletters. For more information, please see Jetpack Paid Newsletters.
  • WordPress.com subscribers: Subscribers who have signed up to follow your blog or site via the WordPress.com Reader.

View your subscribers

From the Subscribers panel, you can see all your subscribers, including WordPress.com subscribers and email subscribers. The list is ordered by date of subscription, with the newest subscribers appearing at the top.

You can access your subscribers’ view from the Jetpack Cloud and the WP Admin dashboards:

While viewing subscribers, clicking “View” on the vertical dots under the Action column will take you to their Newsletter subscription details, rates of emails opened, and more Subscriber information (if added by the subscriber) such as email address, country and any websites they own.

Manage subscribers section

Next to each subscriber, you can see key details about their subscription:

  • Subscription Type – Indicates whether they are a free or paid subscriber, their billing frequency (monthly/yearly) and the amount paid.
  • Email Subscription Status – Shows whether the subscriber receives email notifications for new posts with one of the following statuses:
    • Subscribed – Actively receiving your newsletter via email.
    • Not Subscribed – Not receiving emails but subscribed to your site via the Reader.
    • Not Confirmed – Has not confirmed their email, so they are not yet a subscriber and do not count toward your total subscriber count.
    • Not Sending – Subscribed, but blocked from receiving emails. This may happen due to an invalid email address, a blocked domain, marking past emails as spam, or the subscriber pausing email notifications. In the last scenario, a subscriber might have paused all email notifications from WordPress.com, but might also have switched subscription settings only for one site, by turning off emails for a specific site alone.
  • Since – The date they subscribed to your site.

You can filter, sort, and search subscribers to tailor your view. Use the options at the top of the Subscribers list to:

  • Filter by subscription type or email subscription status and see each category’s total number of subscribers.
  • Sort the list by any column.
  • Search for subscribers by name, username, or email.

Troubleshoot missing subscribers

First, make sure you are logged into the correct WordPress.com account. If you have multiple accounts, you will need to make sure you are logged into the account that is associated with the Jetpack connection of the site.

If you recently changed your domain or hosting and are now seeing duplicate sites in the Jetpack dashboard or are missing stats, this could be due to an Identity Crisis. But don’t worry! Jetpack still has the subscriber data – we just need to reconnect them to the correct site. If you have a paid plan and have lost your stats or followers, please contact support with the following information:

  • Your current site URL.
  • Any prior development URLs or subdirectory/subdomain URLs.
  • The WordPress.com username used to connect Jetpack

If you have a free user, please post a request on the Jetpack forum.
