Issue licenses in Jetpack Manage

Issuing single licenses vs. license bundles

In Jetpack Manage, you can issue a single product license, or a bundle of licenses. This is how they differ:

• Single Licenses: Issuing a single license allows you to add a Jetpack plan to one site. These licenses are billed based on the number of days that it is active in a month. 
• License bundles: Issuing a bundle of licenses allows you to add a Jetpack plan to multiple sites. Purchasing a bundle of licenses also allows you to take advantage of our bulk discount pricing. You are billed based on the number of days the license bundle is active in a month, including licenses that are not assigned to a site yet.

Active license statuses

Once a license is issued in Jetpack Manage, it becomes active. Active licenses can have a status of assigned or unassigned:

• Assigned licenses: These are licenses that have been purchased via Jetpack Manage and are assigned to a site. When you are invoiced at the end of the month for your usage, you will be charged for all the days this license was assigned to a site. If you revoke the license before the end of the month, you will be charged for the days before you revoked the license. 
• Unassigned licenses: These are licenses that have been purchased via Jetpack Manage but have not been assigned to a site yet. When you are invoiced at the end of the month for your usage, you will be charged for this license, even if it’s never assigned to a site.

Issue a single license

1. Go to https://cloud.jetpack.com.
2. Navigate to Licenses.
3. Click Issue New License.
4. On the Issue product licenses page, make sure Single license is selected.
5. Click the checkbox for the license you want to issue. 
6. Click Review 1 license. 
7. Click Issue 1 license. 
8. Enter payment details, if you haven’t done so already. Once you enter your payment details, you will be taken back to the Licenses page where you can assign the license to a site. 
9. On the Licenses page, locate the license that is labelled as Unassigned. Click Assign.
10. On the next screen, you will be prompted to select a site to assign the license to. Click the radio button next to the site you want to assign the license to and then click Assign 1 License. 

Issue a bundle of licenses

1. Go to https://cloud.jetpack.com.
2. Navigate to Licenses.
3. Click Issue New License. 
4. On the Issue product licenses page, make sure 5, 10, 20, 50, or 100 licenses is selected.
5. Click the checkbox for the license bundle you want to issue. All licenses in the bundle will be for the same plan.
6. Click Review XX licenses. 
7. Click Issue XX licenses. 
8. Enter payment details, if you haven’t done so already. Once you enter your payment details, you will be taken back to the Licenses page where you can assign the licenses to sites. 
9. On the Licenses page, locate the license that is labelled as XX License Bundle. Click the down arrow next to the label to open the bundle of licenses.
10. Click Assign to assign the first license to a site. 
11. On the next screen, you will be prompted to select a site to assign the license to. Click the radio button next to the site you want to assign the license to and click Assign 1 License.
12. Once the license is successfully assigned to the site, you will be taken back to the Licenses page. 
13. Repeat steps 9 – 12 for each license you wish to assign in the bundle. 

If you don’t assign all the licenses at once, you can come back and complete steps 9 – 12 as you have more sites to add to the bundle. Even if a license in a bundle is unassigned, you will still pay for all the licenses in the bundle each month.
