Jetpack 7.3: Start Strong and Stay Healthy

Creating a new site is exciting! If you’re like us, you want to launch it as soon as possible. To cut down on setup time, the latest version of Jetpack automatically enables fewer features to get you going faster give you more control over your site’s experience. When you’re starting a site, you also want to know that there’s help when you need it, so all Jetpack sites running WordPress 5.2—the latest version, also released today—have built-in monitoring and support tools

Startup, Streamlined

Jetpack is full of great features to guide your new website to success… but sometimes, you only want to start with a couple while you figure out what works best for you. For new sites, Jetpack automatically enables a short list of features to give you more control over which features to use on your site.

This doesn’t just make getting started faster, it makes your site itself faster: independent reviews show that sites using Jetpack are faster and more efficient than sites using multiple other popular plugins to cobble together the same set features. And this update improves the performance of new Jetpack sites even more by letting you wait until you need a feature to activate it.

Site Health

WordPress 5.2, released today, adds a new Site Health section to your website’s dashboard. You can visit Tools->Site Health to get a snapshot of things like if your server’s version of PHP (the language used by WordPress and Jetpack) it outdated or if your site is unable to communicate with Jetpack’s servers, and to run tests to ensure your Jetpack features are working great

For those times when you need to ask for some help, there the Site Health tools include an “Info” section with an easy click-to-copy way to grab all kinds of information that helps support technicians and Jetpack Happiness Engineers determine why something may not be working quite right. Hopefully, you’ll never need there tools — but if you do, they allow us to work together more effectively and get your site back in top form faster.
