Get Started with Jetpack Social

Jetpack Social helps you automatically share your WordPress posts to multiple social media platforms, keeping your audience engaged no matter where they follow you.

How to use Jetpack Social

You can activate Jetpack Social from within Jetpack or install it as a standalone plugin. Once it’s active, you can connect social accounts and start automatically sharing your new posts to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Mastodon, Nextdoor, and Bluesky.

The Jetpack Social admin lives at Jetpack → Social in WP Admin. It opens to the “Overview” tab by default.

Overview tab

The Overview tab is the landing view for Jetpack Social. It surfaces the social accounts connected to your site and gives you one place to add new connections.

The tab contains:

  • Add account button: The page header has an “Add account” button. It opens the connections modal, where you can pick a social network (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Mastodon, Nextdoor, or Bluesky) and run the connection flow for that service.
  • Connected accounts card: This card lists every social account already connected to your site. Each row shows the account, who connected it, and controls to disconnect or reconnect the account.
  • Empty state: If no accounts are connected yet, the card body shows a share icon, the message No accounts connected yet, and a primary “Add account” button. This button opens the same connections modal as the page-header button.
  • Connection error notice: If an existing connection has expired or failed, a notice appears above the connected accounts card with instructions to reconnect.

The Overview tab does not include sharing defaults, scheduling controls, or the Social Image Generator. Those live in other parts of the Jetpack Social admin and in the post editor.

Jetpack Social features by plan

With Jetpack Social, you can share your posts to popular social media platforms — with no limits on how many times you share. Whether you’re publishing something new or resurfacing older content, you’ll stay visible and active where your audience is.

The Free plan includes powerful features like automatic sharing, post previews, and re-sharing old content. To unlock more advanced customization, like uploading a custom image or video, using the Social Image Generator to create branded visuals, or using custom messages for each social network, you can upgrade to one of our paid plans: Jetpack Social, Jetpack Growth, or Jetpack Complete.
