Learn how to create, manage, and organize forms using the Jetpack Form Editor, including how to build new forms, edit existing ones, preview and embed them, and manage responses and filters.
Add a form
To create a new form using the Jetpack Form Editor:
- Go to Jetpack → Forms.
- Click Create a form. This will automatically open the Jetpack Block Editor.
- A modal will appear prompting you to add a form title. Enter a title and click Create.
- Choose from a pre-built form pattern or type a brief description in the AI text box to get started quickly, or start with a blank form.
- In the left-hand sidebar, you can add form fields or search for them.
- Reorder fields by using the arrows in each field’s toolbar.
- Make fields required or not required by toggling the
*setting. - To customize the submit button, click directly on the button text and replace it with your preferred label.
- Click Publish to open the pre-publish checklist. You’ll have the option to Preview the form and submit test submissions.
- If everything looks correct, click Publish again. You can choose to:
- Add to a new page: Create a new page to add your form to. Enter the title, then click Create Page.
- Add to an existing page: Choose from a dropdown of existing pages. Click Copy & go to page to confirm.
- Copy and add manually: Choose between copying the embed code or the shortcode to place it on a page.
Preview and test a form
The form preview lets you see exactly how your form looks and behaves before visitors interact with it. You can also submit the form yourself during preview. All responses are saved as test submissions, so you can verify that everything works end-to-end (field validation, the confirmation message, and the notification email) without mixing test data into your real responses.
To preview a form:
- Go to Jetpack → Forms.
- Click the three dots under the Actions menu for the form.
- Select Preview
The preview opens in a new page with a banner at the top confirming you’re in preview mode. From here, you can fill out and submit the form just like a visitor would. When you submit, you’ll receive the notification email with a [TEST] prefix in the subject line and a banner in the email body, so it’s easy to tell apart from real submissions.
To view test responses:
- Go to Jetpack → Forms → Responses
- Test responses appear in your Inbox alongside real responses but are marked with a “Test” badge in the From column. The Source column shows a “Form Preview” link instead of a page URL.
- Click any response to open the detail panel. Test responses show a “Test” badge above the respondent info, and the Source field links back to the form preview.
Test responses are excluded from CSV exports by default. If you select specific responses that include test entries before exporting, those will be included and the export modal will let you know.
Edit a form
- Go to Jetpack → Forms.
- Click the three dots under the Actions menu for the form.
- Select Edit
Delete a form
