Control Jetpack Features on the Features Page
The Features page lists individual Jetpack features, with the option to activate or deactivate them.
Access the Jetpack Features Page
A working Jetpack connection is required to access the Features page.
To access the Features page:
- Go to WP Admin → Jetpack → My Jetpack and click Features.
Starting with Jetpack 16.3, the modules links in the Jetpack footer opens the Features tab in List view.
Manage features in the Features tab
Starting with Jetpack 16.3, the Features tab replaces the Products tab in My Jetpack. It lists the main Jetpack features (also called modules) and lets you turn each one on or off from one place, without reloading the page.
To find a feature:
- Go to Jetpack → My Jetpack and click the Features tab.
- Click a filter to narrow the list: All, Active, Inactive, Essential, Security, or Growth. Each filter shows how many features it matches.
- Type in the search box to find a feature by name.
Each feature shows its name, an Active or Inactive badge, a short description, and a control. The control depends on how the feature is delivered:
- A switch turns the feature on or off.
- Install installs and activates the standalone plugin that provides the feature, such as Jetpack Boost or Jetpack Protect.
- Install Jetpack or Activate Jetpack appears when only the Jetpack plugin provides the feature and Jetpack is missing or inactive.
Click a feature’s name, icon, or description to open its details. The details window explains what the feature does, what you get with a free or paid plan, and how to get it. It has Activate or Deactivate buttons, and an Open button once the feature is running.
Switch to list view and turn on several features at once
The Features tab shows features as a grid by default. Click the list view button next to the search box to show them as rows.
To turn several features on or off at once:
- Click the list view button.
- Select the checkbox next to each feature you want to change.
- Click Activate or Deactivate in the bar above the list.
My Jetpack shows a message confirming how many features changed. Features that could not be changed stay selected, and the message explains why, so you can try again.
Some features cannot be selected in list view, such as features that need a plugin installed first or features that your host or another plugin forces on. Hover over the disabled checkbox to see why.
The Modules link in the My Jetpack footer and the All Jetpack modules link on the Help tab both open the Features tab in list view.
List of Features
Starting with Jetpack 16.3, you manage all Jetpack features (also called modules) from the Features tab in My Jetpack. The Features tab replaces the Products tab.
Filter pills at the top of the tab narrow the list:
- All: shows every feature.
- Active: shows only features that are turned on.
- Inactive: shows only features that are turned off.
- Essential: shows Boost, Forms, Protect, and Stats.
- Security: shows features included in Jetpack Security: Activity Log, Akismet Anti-spam, Protect, and VaultPress Backup.
- Growth: shows features included in Jetpack Growth: Newsletter, Podcast, Social, and Stats.
The Essential, Security, and Growth filters apply only to the main features. They do not show anything from the More Features section. Typing in the Search features box searches every feature, whichever filter is selected. You can switch between Grid view and List view with the layout buttons next to the search box.

The main features appear first, in alphabetical order:

- Social
- Stats
- VaultPress Backup

More Features
Below the main features, the More Features section lists the rest of Jetpack’s features under these headings, in alphabetical order:
- Analytics: WooCommerce Analytics
- Design: Extra Sidebar Widgets, Widget Visibility
- Earn: Ads
- Engagement: Comment Likes, Comments, Gravatar Hovercards, Likes, Related posts, Sharing, WP.me Shortlinks

The More Features section only appears when the Jetpack plugin is active. Features that don’t apply to your site are not listed.
Deactivated Features and the Jetpack Menu
Starting with Jetpack 16.3, when you deactivate a feature, its item is removed from the Jetpack menu in WP Admin (also called the WP Admin sidebar). Deactivating most features does not delete their page. The page still opens if you visit its address directly, and the menu item comes back when you activate the feature again.
These features hide their Jetpack menu item when they are deactivated:
- Activity Log
- Forms
- Jetpack AI
- Newsletter
- Podcast
- Search
- SEO Tools
- Social
- VaultPress Backup
- VideoPress
VaultPress Backup works differently. When you deactivate it, the Backup page no longer opens, even from its address. Your backups keep running, and you can manage them in Jetpack Cloud. Activate VaultPress Backup to bring the page back. See Back up your site with Jetpack VaultPress Backup for details.
If a feature you expect is missing from the Jetpack menu, go to Jetpack → My Jetpack → Features, select the Inactive filter, and activate the feature.
Features Active by Default
After you activate and connect Jetpack, these features will be enabled by default:
If you’re comfortable manually tweaking the plugin code, you can control which features Jetpack activates by default using the jetpack_get_default_modules filter.
Features with additional requirements
The following features must meet some conditions to activate them:
- Ads: requires the Jetpack Security, Complete, or Creator plan.
- Jetpack Stats: Commercial sites require a Commercial Stats License
- Search: requires the Jetpack Search or Jetpack Complete plan.
- VideoPress: requires a paid plan to upload more than one video
- WooCommerce Analytics: requires WooCommerce with version 3 or above.
Features No Longer Supported
Google Fonts (Beta)
Google Fonts (Beta) is being retired. This feature is now supported natively in WordPress when using any block theme. To use Google Fonts, refer to the WordPress.org Font Library documentation: How to install a font with Google Fonts. WordPress 6.5, released on April 2, 2024, added this native support.
Starting with Jetpack 15.8, the Google Fonts (Beta) toggle no longer appears in My Jetpack for new users or for users who have not previously activated the module. If you are an existing user who still has the module active, the toggle remains visible in My Jetpack, and you can use it to deactivate the module. The recommended path forward for all users is the native WordPress Font Library.
Module Overrides with Filters
Jetpack modules can be overridden to enforce some modules to always be active, or to force disable some modules in order to avoid compatibility issues with the hosting platform, plugin, or theme. This is done using filters. It’s also possible that a plugin or theme includes code that may inadvertently override the Jetpack modules.
To address the above module overrides situations, you can learn more about working with filters in the Module Overrides guide.
